The days of Camp Flog Gnaw being the little brother of this same team’s Coachella and Stagecoach dynasties are all but over, now that the LA fest is truly at the top tier of the global festival scene. Keeping that momentum growing every year is a unique challenge but the longstanding livestream partnership with Amazon Music Live on Prime/Twitch offers a dynamic toolkit of fresh broadcast opportunities ready to be deployed each season. Successfully meeting this challenge comes natural, as the livestream stays true to the voice of the incredibly talented artists at the heart of this show.
The Approach
In 2024, Camp Flog Gnaw brought its signature creativity, eccentricity, and star power to an even wider audience. Known for its vibrant atmosphere - with an audience of 50,000+ - the festival transforms into a nexus of cutting-edge blend of music, fashion, art, and culture. The livestream offered an immersive experience that captured the essence of the festival's eclectic spirit, with a deep dive into its various attractions, performances, and interviews. Since it’s first airing in 2019, the stream has been designed to mirror the atmosphere of the festival while offering viewers at home a front-row seat to one of the most hyped events in music and pop culture.
Using state of the art cinema cameras and lensing, multiple drone teams, and a small army of creatives, the livestream brings to life the atmosphere and live performances that fans on-the-ground have enjoyed, year over year.
The Performances
The Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival livestream on Amazon Prime was a celebration of music across a wide array of genres, reflecting Tyler’s diverse taste and unique curatorial style. Artists from hip-hop, alternative, R&B, and pop were all part of the lineup, creating an energetic and eclectic mix that resonated with fans worldwide. Over on the freshly redesigned LED host set, the musical diversity of the livestream was enhanced by real-time commentary from festival hosts Wayno, Amber Grimes, and Mouse Jones, offering context about each artist's journey and their influence on music and culture. These live interviews and conversations helped bring the performances to life, giving viewers insight into the creative processes behind each act.
The Fashion Icon
In addition to the musical showcases, the livestream offered glimpses into the broader festival grounds, featuring everything from quirky carnival rides to immersive games and unique shopping experiences that have become synonymous with Camp Flog Gnaw. Tyler’s own brands Golf Wang and LeFleur teamed up with his partners at Converse to create a dreamworld of urban street fashion design.
